If you gave 100 people in NoVa just one wish- but they could only choose between more money or more time- which one do you think the majority would choose? I’d bet more people- okay, some people- choose time. We can ask for a raise to make more money- but figure out how to get a 26 hour day- HA! Wouldn’t it be nice to have more time for family, more time to relax, more time for doing absolutely nothing if we choose. Entrée Vous presents a unique way of actually giving us more time!
In a nutshell- it’s an upscale food preparation business, where you can go in and prepare several delicious entrées in just one hour or so, take them home and freeze them, then cook or bake them when you want them. Or, you can choose from their menu of entrées and they will prepare them for you to pick up. You can make it a fun get-together with friends- crack open a few bottles of wine, turn up the tunes, and enjoy time together while Chef Patrick and Owner, Tamsen, serve up delicious samples and assist you with preparing your meals. Entrée Vous also sometimes has a team whom I refer to as “the kitchen ninjas” who clean up after you as you go. They are friendly and helpful while discreetly doing their duties without being intrusive. Love them.
Entrée Vous is wonderful in so many ways- where to begin… how about the four things I hate most about cooking dinner after a 9 hour work day: 1) Starting a particular meal and then not having enough of a crucial ingredient. 2) Having to split myself between preparing dinner, helping my son with his homework, and getting some housework done to boot so it doesn’t pile up on the weekend. 3) Pots and pans stacked up to be washed by hand since the dishwasher is already full. 4) Buying a certain ingredient for a special meal, and throwing away most of it since the recipe only called for ¼ cup and it only comes in a 2 quart size…. Can anyone else relate??
Entrée Vous eliminates all of that, and allows you to feed your family healthy, original, delicious meals during the week, without taking time away from them. Simply cook dinner in the disposable pan from Entrée Vous. I don’t have to worry about having all of the ingredients, or wasting a yet another pint of heavy cream. Entrée Vous provides fresh herbs and vegetables, high quality meats, and only as much as I need of each- perfect. When I walk in the door after work, I turn on the oven and relax with my son for a while. Dinner goes into the oven & I forget about it until the timer goes off, which often coincides with his homework already being done! My husband sets the table while I pull dinner out of the oven, and we all enjoy a hot meal made of fresh, high grade ingredients. Better still- the portions are large enough that now we have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
I have to share my personal experience- Tamsen found out through an online message board that I was preparing for major ankle surgery, and promptly sent me an offer for a free meal for while I was “on the mend.” I chose Stuffed Chicken Florentine, and it was excellent. A perfect balance of spinach and a seasoned cheese mixture rolled into a juicy chicken breast, then covered with a creamy tomato sauce and topped with more cheese. Duly impressed, I brought my husband and son in, and together we all chose and prepared 10 meals a few days before my surgery. We had a ball cooking together, and my nine year old son was pretty proud of himself for following a recipe by himself and making dinner for Mommy! Dishes like Salisbury Steak & Chicken Parmesan with Spaghetti are kid-friendly and easy to split up for smaller families. Are you more adventurous? Choose more daring entrées that you might not think to prepare on your own, like Beef Gorgonzola Roulade- a fork-tender flank steak stuffed with cheese, roasted red peppers and fresh baby spinach or Moroccan Chicken- chicken breasts marinated in olive oil, lemon and Moroccan spices.
You can see the menu of entrées online- then, with a few clicks on their website, call in an order for pick up, choose a time to come in and prepare your own meals, or even better-arrange a get together with friends. As the host, you receive free meals or discounts based on the number of meals your guests prepare. There are flavorful lower fat options that have 10 grams of fat or less per portion, there are decadent dishes for special occasions, and there are simple, satisfying comfort foods that will please the most finicky eater. After trying and enjoying 9 of 9 entrees within my first month~
