HMMM… NOT SO MUCH.

Vent about what made your experience stand out as extraordinarily lousy. Please be specific on the problems and approximate date of your service-  comments like “this place sucks” or “try xxx instead of yyy” really aren’t helpful.

  1. I’m sad to report that Asia Cafe has lost my business. When we first moved to Broadlands we tried it, loved it, and ordered from them many, many times. I used to enjoy the lean cuts of meat, white meat only chicken, chunky veggies and good sauces. The service was always so-so, but when I wanted just normal chinese food, Asia Cafe was our go-to place. The last two times we ordered from there sealed their fate, however. The second to the last time we ordered they neglected to give us the crispy noodles that go with chow mein. I didn’t have the time or energy to get them that night but did want them for my leftovers, so I called them the next day to tell them I wanted to come in and pick them up. They gave me attitude about how their POLICY is that the customer is to call THAT NIGHT to have things fixed. But, *sigh*, they decided to be nice this once and let me come get my crispy noodles. NEXT TIME, however, I knew how this was supposed to work. (Huh?) Then the last time we went, I noticed a big decline in the quality of the food. No longer was the chicken only white meat… it was mostly gristly dark meat. Other items were greasy. Add that to the less-than-friendly service we always received, I decided that Asia Cafe had seen the last of my business.

  2. Robeks – first, let me say that most of their drinks taste great and they are very healthy.

But the wait time is ridiculous. Went in on 2 Feb and it was not overly crowded, maybe 4-5 people in front of us with 1 person ordering 4 shakes. 20 minutes, TWENTY MINUTES later my wife finally gets her ONE shake.

My wife goes to Robeks somewhat frequently and she says the wait time is always long if the store is even sparsely crowded. For me, I do not have the patience to wait that long for “a shake”, even if it is a healthy one!

  3. Oh, T8erman. You’re just cranky ’cause you didn’t get one and you missed out on some serious deliciousness and vitamins! But I agree. I’ve been there 3 or 4 times since and same story–what seems like an irrationally long wait for a smoothie (not a shake!).

  4. Do yourself a huge favor and DON’T ever step foot in Floors USA, Sterling location.
We purchased carpet from them over a year ago and it was a train wreck. The installers were hours late, after I was told they would arrive at a certain time. My time is precious…. You all know how frustrating it is to take off work and sit, waiting for someone to show up for hours. I could have been working, making money to pay for this awful carpet! The installation all in all was very shotty and they got carpet glue on the landing of the steps. They also removed the wood trim at the bottom of the steps and ‘accidentally’ through it away. They broke a large planter that they knocked over with plant/dirt everywhere. They did reimburse me for the planter only. The owner, salesman and warehouse have been called over 15 times and this has never been rectified. They shouldn’t be in business at all with service (lack of) like this.

  5. I am ISO a salon in Sterling. I was going to Leesburg, but would like to go somewhere closer. Here are my thoughts on Hairport Salon in the Countryside Shopping Center. Good: Got an appt within the week. Bad: I had made my appt for cut & color, and they thought it was just cut. Good: the stylist was able to “fix her schedule” and take me anyway. Bad: the stylist did not pay attention when I showed her some badge photos of how my hair has looked (disappointed that $200 style on my badge looks awful) Good: The stylist did a nice job. Bad: She didn’t give me her card – I don’t remember her name. Bad: the front desk did not think to ask me to make a return appt on my exit. Also Bad: I didn’t like the way the salon was laid out – it wasn’t structured, and wasn’t a comfortable place to get my hair done. I felt like I was in the middle of everyone, even though I was next to the wall. Price was still close to $200 by the time I included tip. Need suggestions for next place and stylist to try – looks like it’s time to make next appt.
