I am ISO a salon in Sterling. I was going to Leesburg, but would like to go somewhere closer. Here are my thoughts on Hairport Salon in the Countryside Shopping Center. Good: Got an appt within the week. Bad: I had made my appt for cut & color, and they thought it was just cut. Good: the stylist was able to "fix her schedule" and take me anyway. Bad: the stylist did not pay attention when I showed her some badge photos of how my hair has looked (disappointed that $200 style on my badge looks awful) Good: The stylist did a nice job. Bad: She didn't give me her card - I don't remember her name. Bad: the front desk did not think to ask me to make a return appt on my exit. Also Bad: I didn't like the way the salon was laid out - it wasn't structured, and wasn't a comfortable place to get my hair done. I felt like I was in the middle of everyone, even though I was next to the wall. Price was still close to $200 by the time I included tip. Need suggestions for next place and stylist to try - looks like it's time to make next appt.

you know, my dog makes me really happy. nothing replaces that unbridled adoration when you walk in the door. the way he is so happy to see me when he doesn’t know what to do with himself- “oooh- do i grab a toy? should i spin in a circle? oh oh oh i'll spin the other way! i will lick her hand and wag my whole body in fornt of her… hooray- mommy is home!”

meanwhile from The Boy I typically get a nonchalant nod and monotone “hi….” as he doesn’t take his eyes off of the TV.

don’t get me wrong- i know The Boy loves me. we laugh together, have heart to hearts, play Monopoly, and enjoy each other’s company. but The Dog- he shows me every moment how much he wants to impress me! I am the pack leader and he goes out of his way to be my favorite.

having a great dog is just- well- great! i understand why they are used for therapy, they just make you feel so loved. you haven’t lived til you wake up being spooned by a Jack Russell ….

i love my doggie.

oh it was AWESOME! came off of LCP sitting 2nd at the 4 way stop on Shellhorn to turn left- Chipotle, Fosters, etc. to my left, I forget the street name.

from the interection to the right- in spite of another car stopped waiting its turn to go in the lane beside him, a green truck goes FLYING thru the four way stop without a care in the WORLD, until the cop behind me crawled up his butt, pulled him over and took care of BINIZ! i hope he hung up his cell phone b4 she go to the window...

what a maroon. the guy in front of ME had just started to turn left and would have been CREAMED by this guy had she moved a little faster.

SO glad there is a larger prescence of LoCO police lately- I hope that guy got a million tickets for speeding, reckless driving, blowing the stop sign and being a complete idgit- do they issue idgit tickets... lol

made my DAY.

A facial is a facial, right? Wrong! I cannot say enough about Bridgette Aubel (Licensed Master Aesthetician) at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic surgery in Lansdowne. Not only did my skin feel clean and glowing for DAYS, but I learned so much about my skin and skin care. I was hooked!
I had always been skeptical about the promised results of facials and medi spa treatments. I've since learned that with the right knowledgable master aesthetician you really can dramatically improve the tone, texture and color of your skin without invasive surgical procedures or a small fortune. Having struggled with acne and poor skin my whole life, I am now proudly wearing my hair back away from my face. My skin has never looked better. Thank you Bridgette!
Guess what my mom is getting for Mothers day....
